We are pleased to announce that on 4th June 2026, BCW Group (Intl) Limited acquired the business and assets of Lupton & Place Burnley, a significant milestone in our continued growth and a strong statement of intent about the direction of the Group.

About Lupton & Place

Founded in 1894 by Robert Henry Place and Arthur Lupton on Queen Street in Burnley, Lupton & Place has over 130 years of heritage in aluminium die casting.

The business has built an outstanding reputation for quality and technical capability across gravity and high-pressure aluminium die casting, supported by machining, finishing, and a range of value-added services.

Lupton & Place serves customers across a diverse range of sectors, including lighting, filtration, aerospace, automotive, and defence.

With approximately 120 employees and annual turnover of around £12 million, the company is one of Europe’s most established operations in its field. The business is also based in Burnley, making this a significant coming together of two of the town’s most prominent manufacturers.

A Strategic Fit

This acquisition is a natural extension of BCW Group’s vertically integrated model. Our approach has always been to bring as much of the manufacturing process as possible under one roof, giving customers greater control over quality, cost, and lead times while reducing supply chain complexity.

The addition of Lupton & Place’s casting expertise further strengthens this offer, enhancing our end-to-end manufacturing capability.

Claire Whelan, Group CEO, said:

“This acquisition is a strategically important move for the Group. Lupton & Place’s technical capability, reputation for quality, and cultural alignment with BCW make it an excellent fit. Bringing this expertise in-house directly supports our vision of a more vertically integrated business, and we see significant opportunity in the combined operation.”

What This Means for Our Customers

For customers, this means a stronger, more capable BCW Group, one that offers even greater control and traceability across the production process.

Whether operating in aerospace, automotive, defence, or off-highway sectors, the combined capabilities of BCW and Lupton & Place provide a more comprehensive and resilient manufacturing partner.

Looking Ahead

We are excited about the opportunities this creates and look forward to working together to realise the full potential of the combined business. If you would like to find out more about how our expanded capabilities could benefit your supply chain, please get in touch with our team.
