Production Shift Manager
Hourly Rate: £15–£18 per hour
Shift: Double days – 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 (37.5 hrs/week)
We are seeking a Production Shift Manager to lead shift operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are consistently achieved in line with BCW Business Management System (BMS) requirements.
You will drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the shift while supporting KPI delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage shift production teams, resources, and performance
Deliver OEE, SQCDIP, and wider production KPIs
Ensure safe working practices, HSE compliance, and quality standards
Manage production planning, staffing, absence, and performance
Support downtime resolution and liaise with engineering/maintenance
Drive continuous improvement and structured problem solving
Oversee TPM Level 1 and production asset care activities
Skills & Experience
Strong leadership and people management skills
Manufacturing experience (mechanical engineering preferred)
Understanding of CNC processes and 2D engineering drawings
Experience using OEE and production performance tools
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Solid understanding of HSE and quality standards
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Experience Required
3+ years in a production/manufacturing leadership role
GCSE / NVQ Level 2–3 / BTEC Level 3 (or equivalent)
Key Focus Areas
Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People (SQCDIP)
OEE performance (target 80%)
