The Company

BCW was formed in 2002 by three friends; Paul Biggs, Alec Cassie, and Andy Whelan. Having worked together for a number of years, there was a desire to form their own manufacturing business, and with over 60 years of manufacturing experience between them, it was the next logical step.

They were approached by a prestigious UK automotive OEM who requested they manufacture some urgent critical parts, thus beginning BCW’s manufacturing involvement within the automotive industry, and the rest, they say, is history.

While Paul has since retired, he keeps a keen interest in the business. Meanwhile, Alec and Andy are now joint owners of BCW Group, maintaining involvement in group activities however BCW Group's Managing Director, Claire Whelan, now oversees the management of BCW Group with the three registered companies operating as BCW Engineering, BCW Treatments & BCW Design & Manufacture.

With continued investment, BCW have grown from a three-person business using one machine in a 2800 sq. ft unit, to a 300 plus strong team operating across multiple units on two sites. 

As an advanced engineering  solutions provider in the Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, Mining, and Medical sectors, we offer a diverse range of solutions to address complex customers manufacturing needs.

Our expertise includes in-house design, tooling, CNC precision machining, assembly, fabrication, and a wide array of surface treatments such as passivation, Aluminium anodising, electrostatic wet paint and powder coating. With our global supply chain capabilities, we confidently operate as Tier 1 to global OEM’s, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions for every customer requirement.

Looking to the future, we aim to continue with our focus of excellence in innovation, making use of the latest technologies to get the most out of our manufacturing capabilities and customer requirements, adapting our offerings to support industry innovations.

BCW Group also provide the governance and strategy via our executive shared services team to our multi disciplined group companies.

Facilities

BCW Group has been located at our current facility on Innovation Drive since 2014, our facilities now consists of multiple units with over 300,000 sq. ft of factory floor space based over two sites in Burnley & Wellingborough.

Within this state-of-the-art facilities, continued investment has given us the ability to deliver our extensive range of capabilities in-house, such as prototyping and design, machining, tooling, assembly, fabrication, treatments, and testing. Thanks to over nearly 100 CNC machines, two specialist surface treatments facilities featuring fully automated anodising and conversion coating lines, over 12 pallet fastem and pool systems, and 3D printing CAD technology, we continually improve quality, performance, and value to give our customers the best solutions possible.
