BCW Treatments Partner with Morris Commercial as they Revive the Iconic Morris JE as an Electric Classic

BCW Treatments Ltd is proud to announce its collaboration with Morris Commercial Ltd as they bring the legendary Morris J-type van back to life in a new, electrifying avatar: the Morris JE. Known for its quintessential British design, the all-new, fully electric Morris JE combines the charm of the classic 1950s J-type design heritage with cutting-edge technology for an impressive and sustainable transport solution.

 

The Morris JE, with its state-of-the-art electric powertrain, boasts a range of up to 250 miles (WLTP) and a lightweight carbon-fibre body, setting new standards in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. This eco-friendly masterpiece not only incorporates recycled and recyclable materials but also serves as a mobile advertising platform, attracting attention with its eye-catching retro-inspired design.

As their preferred surface treatment partner for this unique project, BCW Treatments Ltd applied its expertise in sulphuric acid anodising to the lightweight chassis, delivering a protective coating between 2-10 microns. This Type II anodising process creates a durable layer of aluminium oxide, enhancing both the corrosion and abrasion resistance of the chassis to ensure long-lasting performance. BCW’s rigorous process control safeguards the high standards essential to EV production, reinforcing its commitment to quality and performance.
