BCW Group Sponsors Rising Star Award at Pendleside Hospice's Corporate Challenge Awards & picks up Highly Commended for Large Business Category

BCW Group, proudly sponsored the prestigious Rising Star Award at Pendleside Hospice's Corporate Challenge Awards. The ceremony, held at the exquisite Crow Wood Hotel & Spa, was a testament to the dedication and commitment of the local business community to support the hospice's invaluable work.

Jen Whittaker, BCW Group's Marketing Manager, attended the event as the presenter for the Rising Star Award. Speaking about the sponsorship, she expressed, "We are honored to support the Pendleside Hospice's Corporate Challenge Awards and contribute to the recognition of outstanding talent and achievements in our community."  The award went to two young boys, Ritchie Riley and Bailey Collinge, who have shown maturity and compassion beyond their years. They undertook some fantastic fundraising efforts, from walking 500,000 steps, putting together golf challenges, hosting quizzes and so much more. They raised over £3,000 between them, but what has really shone through was their ability to engage with the public, local and professional communities.

The Corporate Challenge Awards marked another successful year of BCW Group's partnership with Pendleside Hospice, an organization close to their heart. Reflecting on their continued collaboration, Jen Whittaker went on to say, "Pendleside Hospice holds a special place in our hearts, and it has been a privilege to be involved in this year's corporate challenge once again. We remain committed to contributing to the corporate challenge."

The commitment of BCW Group towards Pendleside Hospice was further highlighted through a series of engaging and charitable activities. During the corporate challenge, the BCW team came together for a highly anticipated and successful family fun day, where all the proceeds and raffle ticket sales were generously donated to Pendleside Hospice. The enthusiasm and participation from the companies employees, friends and families were truly heartwarming.

In a display of incredible determination, three dedicated BCW employees took on the formidable Rab Scafell Sky Race amidst scorching temperatures, raising an impressive £1500 for the hospice. Their unwavering dedication exemplified the spirit of BCW Group's team ethos and commitment to supporting their chosen charity.

Adding a touch of humor and camaraderie, the recent "Wear your Wig to Work Day" at BCW Group had everyone in fits of laughter, with some truly memorable and entertaining contributions from the team. The event not only fostered a sense of unity and fun within the workplace but also contributed significantly to the fundraising efforts. BCW Group expressed their gratitude to all the participants, emphasizing that their collective efforts led to a remarkable total of £2660 raised.

Pendleside Hospice has remained a beacon of hope and solace for numerous individuals and families, providing essential services and support during times of need. Over the last year, the hospice extended its reach to 1,744 service users, including 76 children who sought bereavement support. Among them, 442 were treated as outpatients, indicating a significant 47% increase from the previous year. Additionally, 705 individuals accessed the hospice's community services, including the invaluable hospice at home program, marking a commendable 39% increase from the previous year.

The night was a huge success and to top the night off, the corporate challenge raised a huge £167,926.74 for Pendleside Hospice. 

With a strong commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, BCW Group actively supports local initiatives and charitable organizations, including their dedicated partnership with Pendleside Hospice and are looking forward to next years challenge.
