Quality Inspector Wellingborough

We a seeking a quality inspector to join our dynamic team working on an exciting programme with a brand-new customer to the business. As a quality inspector you will play a pivotal role ensuring our parts meet the customer expectations and we build quality back into the process with data to improve capability. This position requires a keen eye for detail as you will be responsible for inspecting all processed parts at the end of line prior to packing. You will be working closely with Quality, Engineering and Production to identify potential quality issues and help implement improvements in the process.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years inspection experience with a strong 'paint' background (Wet paint or Powder coat) and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment within the automotive industry

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all completed parts at the end of line and in-process
  • Use measurement equipment such as verniers, mic's, gauges etc and be able to explain the results
  • Review inspection results and document findings
  • Work with quality, engineering, and production to recommend any corrective actions
  • Follow SOP's and be able to train others on how to inspect products
  • Perform patrol audits

  • Ensure that the Quality Management System procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a quality inspector in the automotive/aerospace industry or similar manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools & test equipment such as verniers, mics and gauges etc.
  • Be able to interpret customer standards & specs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally & written
  • Analytical skills & attention to detail with the ability to identify potential quality issues.
  • Familiarity with quality tools, standards, and customer expectations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.

  • Powder coating or wet paint
  • Casting / forging
  • Machining

The position is permanent, working a 39 hour week, 8.45am - 5pm Monday to Thursday & 7.45am - 1pm on Friday.
