Customer Account Manager

An exciting opportunity to join BCW Engineering This is an exciting opportunity to join an expert provider, with a proven track record delivering advanced engineering solutions to large blue-chip clients in markets sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Mining, Power Generation and Off-Road Vehicles. We are looking for an experienced Customer Account Manager who will be responsible for delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a commercial management role within a business focused enviroment, preferably automotive. As the Customer Account Manager (CAM), your role will be to drive the business to deliver its contractual obligations to clients and position the company by business review cadence for successful growth targets feeding in to sales. The role requires someone who can think and work on their own initiative in a fast-paced environment, coupled with this the CAM will also have to influence the business to meet client expectations, and highlight any risks commercially and contractually that could impact BCW Engineering Ltd.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide both a reactive and proactive service to our customer base.
  • Lead, plan, and execute all account management and development activities in respect of nominated customer relationships.
  • Always align with team and organisational goals.
  • Navigate complex organisations (global where necessary), building and nurturing relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to lead, manage and resolve commercial, supply disputes, engineering challenges and delivery of mutually beneficial resolution solutions with all customers.
  • Generating accurate sales pipeline forecasting.
  • All departmental KPI’s.
  • Expanding accounts by moving to new departments and business areas with set customers.
  • Work with the engineering and NPI teams to identify, plan and communicate all customer activities.
  • Support negotiation terms of business with the customers.
  • Ensure effective communication levels are implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure two-way contract adherence between the company and the customer base.
  • Strategically position the company as a world leading best in class sustainable supplier.
  • Responsible for all administration with partial direct report.
  • Management of all new enquiries, feasibility through to quotation and successful order intake.
  • Contract review of all incoming purchase orders.

  • Ability to influence internal stakeholders at all levels and strong ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Good understanding of competitors, market analysis experience and their disadvantages to best leverage BCW.
  • Full understanding of customer NPI requirements, full knowledge of our commitments and deliverables throughout project milestones.
  • Full understanding of the company’s terms and conditions of sale and being responsible for the management and implementation of all resolution activities with customers.

Work with your manager to:

  • Identify potential new growth and customer opportunities.
  • Generate new accounts and sales opportunities.
  • Set up meetings between new company's practice leaders/Principals.
  • Review and identify potential trade shows, exhibitions for which to visit and exhibit at.
  • Manage existing business accounts and relationships.

Sales & Cost Analysis.

  • Track key account metrics.
  • Forecasting sales and target analysis.          
  • Site SOP's
  • RFQ Management and feasibility.
  • Support to drive a 15% yr. on yr. growth plan with current/new clients
  • Analyse RFQ’s (5 days ‘tat for response. Win loss ratio by customers)
  • Pricing accuracy number of price list queries and £'s (Debits)

Numerical skills

  • Ability to work within set budgets, expectations and deliver results.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of all pricing metrics.
  • Excellent Microsoft excel knowledge and ability to use all Microsoft base packages.

Experience of working in a commercial management role within a business focused environment which incorporates.

  • Account management or other relevant experience.
  • Delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs.
  • All aspects of perusing and obtaining new contracts from existing clients and new customers.
  • Understanding the needs and challenges of new and current customers to retain contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and customers at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Experience from within an existing industry, preferred automotive..
  • Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes akin to BCW.
  • Degree educated.
  • Commercial and business acumen.

This is a permanent position based at our site in Burnley

Working a 39-hour week

7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30 to 12.30pm on Friday

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £45,000.00-£50,000 per annum
